"Congratulations to an innovator and a businessperson, Zito has decided to stay in Maine and make it… ! I have read about him and seen his web-business grow. The sustainability and growth of Maine business will be found working with national and international firms." Peter Lindquist
Hey Matt, great insight and thanks. I have been researching possible tour operator structure on the net (not much there) and this has clarified my envisioned structure of owning my product;
i.e. guided tours (vehicle (city & rural) / activity (surf/mountain biking) + transport + accommodation. I would now apply 80/20 here of course. The offering will include packages and just doing an activity of a day (transport + suppliers equipment rented). Over a week the tours will be 2 days and activities 3/4 days, everything should fall into place or re-jigged later as per demand. I have various usp's such as small group, hybrid 4 wheel drive 8 seater luxury vehicle, on board tv's.
I'm going to start small, this leads to my question which is to do with naming it, it will initially cover the east side of one county (state) and will expand to 4, any advice on strategically naming this?, it may be within one province (group of countys) but may pour over this, I don't want to be renaming later and I want to enjoy successful naming and specific search word hits starting out - this seems to be a competency of yours. Thanks in advance.
Hi Matt,
Excellent! Many, many thanks. Even though I have taken some of the steps you articulated, there was still plenty of food for thought. The marketing aspect now is the toughest hurdle. Much continued success to you!
"I enjoyed reading your report and the succinct way in which you analyze the business." Simon
"Very interesting report. I am in the market where travel industry is not online yet and their is a huge gap to capitalize on. I have been thinking of starting online travel business for quite some time now. This report has provided me foundation of useful ideas on which I can build upon. Thanks for sharing the report." "I have been working with Matt Zito on a marketing plan for the last six months. His attention to detail and organization skills have filled in the gaps of what my business was needing to help move to the next level. He also kept on task and completed his work when he said he would. I now have a much clearer sense of what is needed to drive Geoffrey Warner Studio & Willow Sailing Charters forward into 2010." Geoff Warner
"I found your presentation to be right on the money. You offer very specific and useful ideas which our business can readily apply and you manage to cover a wide spectrum of issues very concisely. I found myself wishing that I was faster at taking notes." Jim Close, Acadia View Bed & Breakfast
“Although your strategies, tips and ideas are clearly focused on the travel and lodging businesses to develop and grow, several of your tips would apply and benefit any and all Maine businesses! Thank You for a wonderful presentation,” Linda Elliott, President Schoodic Chamber of Commerce.
"Very much enjoyed your presentation Tuesday night and, like Rona, "learned several things new…" Your note of the key word phrasing and word count for website search engine optimization was very handy… Again, thanks for your ever-continuing efforts to assist the Chamber and its members! " Wes Shaw, Bar Harbor Business Location Maps
